Coronavirus
Portsmouth was the first cathedral in the country to reintroduce choral services during the pandemic and is well equipped to welcome visiting choirs under covid-safe circumstances should that still be required. If we are not out of the pandemic by the time of the visit, the following rules will apply. More precauctions will be necessary and you will be informed of those nearer the time.
Max singers with distancing: 24
If the pandemic has ended by the time of the visit we will open up more spaces.
Singers will be at a minimum 2m distance from each other at all times, both in services and rehearsal. No socialising will be permitted on site. Extra cleaning will be conducted throughout the visit. Copies of all music will be made available to you in advance so that you may download the pack and sing from your tablet or from music printed at home, reducing physical contact. Cassocks and surplices will be provided on the day, prepared 3 days in advance and transported in plastic covers to reduce contact.
We are delighted to be arranging visits again, but you should not attend if:
you or someone you live with is at high risk or shielding
you show any symptoms in the 14 days prior to the visit
you live in an area under tier 4 restrictions or above (eg local lockdown) at the time of the visit
We are monitoring the situation and will not arrange a visit if we feel we cannot do it safely. A determination will be made nearer the time and those who have signed up for the visit will be informed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ed at md@harsnettchoir.org or Debs at visits@harsnettchoir.org
